The day I found my birth mother changed how I see connection — and it's why Fika exists

Alex, why I
started Fika.

I want to tell you why Fika exists — because it's personal. In 2016 I found my biological mother through a Facebook post that went viral, and the moment it happened I understood something I've held onto ever since: finding your people can change your whole life.

That's the idea behind everything we do here. I started Fika so more people could feel that — the joy of a real connection, in real life, with someone who gets them. A great friend, a special someone, a circle that feels like home.

It works best when you show up, stay open, and give people a chance. Be brave, say yes, and let's go meet the world together.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at our next event!

We all long for love and belonging — and when we find it, we live happier, more fulfilled lives.

Come say hello — I'd love to see you there.
